Installing the OpenGround XML Data Mapper

The OpenGround XML Data Mapper is supplied as a single XLAM file and does not require any installation. However to work it must be saved to a trusted location and you must ensure the marcos are enabled in your Excel.

If everything is set up correctly, you will see an “OpenGround Mapping” toolbar on Excel when you double-click the XLAM file. If the menu is not visible, then check the following:-

Change the Macro Settings in the Trust Center

Macro settings are located in the Trust Center. However, if your device is managed by your work or school the system administrator might prevent anyone from changing settings.

Important: When you change your macro settings in the Trust Center, they are changed only for the Microsoft 365 app that you are currently using. The macro settings are not changed for all your Microsoft 365 apps.

  1. Select the File tab and choose Options.
  2. Select Trust Center, and then choose Trust Center Settings.
  3. In the Trust Center, select Macro Settings and ensure that the following option is ticked.
  4. Make the selections that you want, then select OK.

Add a trusted location

  1. In Excel, click File > Options.
  2. Click Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations.
  3. Click Add new location.
  4. Click Browse to find the folder, select a folder, and then click OK.
