Loading an Import Defination into Excel

This article explains how to download and export file format from OpenGround and import it into Excel ready for editing

The process involves two steps – Downloading the Definition file and opening it in Excel.

Download the Definition file.

  1. Open OpenGround Professional
  2. Select System | Manage | Configuration Packs Icon. This will open a new tab with all your configuration packs listed.
  3. Select the configuration pack that contains the mapping definition you want to download.
  4. Select “Download Import Mapping” or “Download Export Mapping” from the Configuration Tools | Manage | Transfer Mapping icon
  5. OpenGround will prompt you to save an XML file – name this file and save it.

Open the Definition file in Excel.

  1. Select OpenGround Mapping | Mapping files | Read from the Excel Add-in
  2. Select the file created above.
  3. The file will imported into a blank workbook with a sheet created for each import/export option.
