Clear SAMP ID

Sometimes a laboratory will return testing data that includes a SAMP ID field, usually their own internal ID.

Although there is nothing wrong with this approach, but it can cause problems if the receiving software views the SAMP_ID field as one of the sample references used to created the unique reference. If this is the case, then the software will likely produce new samples that are duplicates of the original ones.

If you are not using the SAMP_ID field, and unless you are running an environmental project with blanks and Spike samples there is no reason to, then it is often easier to simply remove all the values from the SAMP_ID column on all groups.

Selecting the Clear SAMP ID icon on the Tools section of the ribbon will remove all the values from the SAMP_ID column on all groups.
